I’m hoping there might be something to the pairs he used in the scrimmage. Harley and Heiskanen were amazing the few times an incomplete change treated us to them together. Miro is an elite hybrid defenseman. Harley has the toolbox to be the same. If he can learn to think the game like Miro does that’s an amazing top pair for a long time. Miller has shown well so far. If he’s healthy, him and Esa give DeBoer a second pair that can handle some more difficult minutes, allowing the other pairs to create more offense. Suter gets a lot of unnecessary crap from fans. He’s still a very solid player for what he gets paid. He was a true top pair guy. He would be an excellent mentor for Nils. Let them tear up some softer minutes. Bourque and Blumel have something special going on. Keep an eye on that. Likely will be an AHL something special. I wish they’d move on from Faksa, but DeBoer seems to like having size
