Description
Norris could be gone for the season. With that, there is a hole in the top 6. There has to be a plan to fix up the lines and maybe move someone in or maybe promote a player but right now this is the Lineup, looked good against Dallas, and we will see if they can go 5 straight tonight.

I liked Brassard when he was here before, even though it was one of the worst trades ever made by the Sens but do we really think at 35 that he can go from PTO to 2C for a whole season?

Long term I really see Pinto taking the roll..... but with it being a contract year for him, that could prove really problematic for the Sens.

Brassard will work for now..... but not sure how long that lasts. Excellent defensive option, but will that line produce?

While Debrincat has not had the goals we would like to see so far, the offense numbers between Giroux and Cat seem to nod at the fact that they can keep up good numbers with Brassard as their C. the looked good against the Stars.

With Pinto, I think it doesn't matter for his contract where he plays, if he is 2C and gets a bunch of A's the team and him will know that the numbers are inflated because of who he is playing with. He really is the ideal 3C.

Not disagreeing.

And what I will say about Dorion's contract negotiating abilities is I haven't seen him sign one yet based on one year, there has been a body of work there to justify the money (see Norris).

So yes, I think you are right about Pinto. Ot at least I hope so. Maybe a Leafs fan, but dammit, this team up front is soooooo goooooood.

Sens should reassess the situation after 15-20 games, In addition to testing Brassard's resilience/durability, that should buy sufficient time to learn if Alex Formenton will be available this year and/or if Ridly Greig is ready for prime time.

I would love the idea of Sliding Giroux to C and taking turns bringing up a couple of different guys to try them at RW on that line.

I really hope that the Formenton issue gets worked out, I was so hyped for a Formenton - Pinto - Jospeh 3rd line. Would not only be one of the fastest lines in the NHL, but likely the best 3rd line in the NHL this year as well.
