Why would minnesota want to swap Granlund and galchenyuk? If anything just seems like a lateral trade that doesn't need to happen.

Galchenyuk is an upgrade over Granlund, but I don't think this works for Montreal. Granlund hasn't played much C and there's no indication he would be any better at it than Galchenyuk.
For Scandella, I don't think he partners well with Weber, which is our primary need. Montreal could use someone with more mobility in that role, and a defender with some PP ability is preferable.

I've pretty much arrived at the conclusion that a MTL/MIN trade doesn't make a lot of sense for either team at this point in time.
Unless it involves Montreal upgrading by taking a bit of salary and/or adding picks, I don't see a trade happening.
