Agreed - and it would never happen. Management and coaching believe in the value of Girgensons checking / hustle / penalty-killing / leadership and wouldn't prioritize the "toughness" / fighter role that many fans want to protect their stars.

Roster would also present issues once Bryson is healthy - if Pilut is your 7th, and Kassian/Girgensons/Hinostroza are the other scratches, then you'd need to demote or trade someone. If the Coyotes lose Chychrun, they'd likely want a young defenseman at lower cost in return besides the prospect that Johnson would be in your proposal.

I hate that okposo gets a roster spot just because he's captain. Girgs should def be in over him in the above. We should have done co-captians for the year w/ Okposo and Dahls. That way we have a C when Okposo is out and we dont have to feel bad scratching him. To be fair, he has regressed this year a lot more than expected; I will be interested to see if he gets scratched if he continue to play poorly.
