Description
The Wings have taken steps to improve, but Yzerman is still making moves for the long-haul at the trade deadline. I expect Larkin will finally sign for $9.1 million for 8 years at some point. Negotiations with Bertuzzi indicate he wants more than Yzerman is willing to give, so Yzerman trades him at the deadline.
Trades
1.
DET
  1. 2023 5th round pick (PIT)
PIT
  1. Hägg, Robert
Additional Details:
Defensive depth for playoffs
2.
DET
  1. Horvat, Bo
Additional Details:
Yzerman continues his quest for upgrading the team now and into the future, and he immediately signs Horvat for $8.95 million for 8 years.
VAN
  1. McIsaac, Jared
  2. Vrána, Jakub
  3. Zadina, Filip
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
Canucks start their rebuild by gaining young assets with potential for their disgruntled captain
3.
DET
  1. 2023 4th round pick (CGY)
CGY
  1. Erne, Adam
Additional Details:
Tough depth forward that can provide scoring for the playoffs
4.
DET
  1. Bourgault, Xavier
  2. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Negotiations with Bertuzzi indicate his price is more than what Yzerman is willing to pay, so he trades for a top prospect, a consistently under-performing young RW, and the 2nd round pick. The cost reflects Yzerman retaining salary on both players going to the Oilers.
EDM
  1. Bertuzzi, Tyler ($2,375,000 retained)
  2. Nedeljkovic, Alex ($1,500,000 retained)
  3. 2023 4th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
With limited options at the trade deadline due to cap issues, Holland makes a trade with the Red Wings going all in for the Stanley Cup by acquiring the gritty scoring forward and a potential upgrade in goal for this year and the future.

Canucks may trade Bo to the Wings but they would want Seider coming back or Hronek and a prospect or pick Minimum

Detroit may very well be a very ideal situation for him and the Wings but there isn't much at all exciting about that package. It would take a much better offer. Canucks would rather overpay Bo than see him go for pennies on the dollar.

The Canucks already have a ton a wingers that they are struggling to find playing time for.

Considering what Copp was traded for, and Bo being a much better player offensively, this would need to look like a 1st, 2nd, +.

And as much as everyone preaches Yzerman won't trade a 2023 1st, if he has a plan for Larkin and Horvat centering this team, then that's what it would take without question.

So none of the pieces your moving bother me at all but Horvat is gonna cost high quality pieces. Vrana can't stay on the ice mcaasic and Zadina are zero value and a 2nd is a throw in. You want Horvat your talking a 1st rounder pick, a high end prospect or 2, a roster player. Plus you better be sure you can sign him. Can't trade for him and them Yzerman pull the heavy act like with Larkin.

I don't know why Canucks fans think Horvat is suddenly a superstar lol. For one, the guys a rental and two, even if he wasn't he's not worth a young top pairing dman lol. Whens the last time a rental brought back a top 4 dman with term

The comps are there. Copp nabbed three picks last year.
