Description
Moat important change prior to the season: New coach

I ran a simulation on tankathon with the Ducks getting 1OA , SJS-2OA, CHI-3OA. (Pretty unrealistic if you ask me but I'll roll with it.)

Draft:
#1: Connor Bedard, C
#33: Caden Price, LD

In this scenario LaCombe and Thrun don't sign with the Ducks because of their stacked left side prospect pool (Mintyukov, Zellweger) and them seeing no NHL future in Anaheim for themselves because of that.

Pastujov -> AHL
Clang -> AHL
Janicke -> AHL
Rosén -> AHL

I'm conflicted on the lineup and wether Zegras would be moved back to Wing. Could also be McTavish but I'd prefer to have someone like him as a C in the Top 6 opposed to Zegras and Bedard with McTavish on the Wing.

(Not sure how realistic the Sabres trade is considering I'm not sure how valuable Rosén is to them.)

    Additional Details:
    In this scenario, the Sabres continue to be as good and are a playoff team and add a bit at the deadline. With the amount of Forward talent in their prospect pool, they decide to offer Rosén for Klingberg + Andersson to add depth to their defensive prospect pool.

    Going by the scenario you lay out, I’d say it’s possible

    However, i don’t think the style of defenseman we’d be looking for is a puck moving, offensive guy- but Andersson could be a guy we like

    Also, there’s ZERO CHANCE the Sabres are a playoff team if we can’t figure out our goaltending
    So if that doesn’t happen first, then we won’t be in position to potentially make a deal like this

    Don’t see Canucks taking on 4.25m more real money for a F not need. Need a sweetener.

    Buffalo isn't a playoff team and klingberg isn't a fit

    I'm hoping for more of a defensive physical guy. There is something to be said for upgrading from Bryson and possibly jokiharju regardless of style, but I would really prefer something more physical and defense oriented.

    Totally get that. As I said, this is only my proposal if they figure that out and are a playoff team. Understandable that you wouldn't want another puck-mover, thanks for the feedback.
