Description
The two trades I lack ultimate confidence in are the two that matter the most to this AGM. I'd like the most feedback on those two moves if possible.

Ekholm's value sits somewhere around Broberg, the 2023 first, and some appropriate amount of salary cap headed back to Tennessee. Sissons' value as-is looks to be that of a typical third-line forward and maybe Nashville finds some appeal in a Foegele-Sissons swap by way of Edmonton adding a prospect (Berezkin?). I don't know how to value the $5.71M Nashville is asked to retain in this trade but I know the ask is not small. I used the Monahan-to-Montreal deal as a proxy, just without the conditional add-ons as the idea here is that Edmonton isn't looking to take on a negative asset. I have the Predators tacking on an extra piece of draft capital in 2024 as the value from my point of view feels slanted in Nashville's favour: I don't think Barrie and Foegele are the full-fat negative roster pieces a lot of posters make them out to be and the two of them would be good complimentary pieces to help Nashville stay competitive next season after taking an off-year to accumulate some picks and prospects.

I'm iffy on the Sharks trade because I can't find a consistent value for Labanc. I've seen things ranging from a first round pick to a second round pick, with all sorts of add-ins in between. Edmonton's issue in upgrading its roster is always going to come down to its number of quality pieces because it very rarely has any to spare. The mileage is going to vary on who values what in this deal: I see the breakdown as Puljujarvi for Nieto and the twin 6th round picks; Kemp, Petrov, and the 2023 second for Labanc; and the 2024 2nd round pick as compensation for the $2.86M Edmonton asks for in retention. It's probably close in terms of quantity but this trade probably lacks the quality value Sharks fans didn't realize they wanted for Labanc.

The rest of this AGM is small potatoes: the Panthers trade merely makes Gildon an official Oilers prospect as he's played more for Bakersfield than the Panthers' own affiliates. A project in Lavoie is sent in exchange as the Bailey signing makes fitting Raphael on the roster nearly impossible. The Canucks trade is Schenn plus organizational depth for a live body and futures and isn't much more than either side should expect. Munzenberger is signed to free him from a disastrously bad Vermont team; hopefully Joel Maatta makes his way to Finland or a better NCAA team for next season.

If next year's cap is only increasing by $1-2M, Yamamoto is the likely the only casualty for the Oilers assuming Bouchard is extended to a deal less than $2.5M/2y.

Nieto’s value is a late 4th early 5th
Labanc’s is a 2nd and a decent prospect or a 4th max.
neither have the value i would like them to but both provide value to teams, if labanc was on a 2.5 to 3 mil deal with his current production he absolutely would be worth way more.

Outside of the elite name "Greg McKegg", that offer isn't enough to entice the Canucks

So in reality then, the twin second-round picks and Kemp should be enough for Labanc at the amount I have retained? If Petrov is the only excess to this deal then I'm happy to reorganize the deal.

I'd be okay with taking some sort of cap back on edmonton's relief for some sort of compensation, but I doubt we retain on Sissons. For 4 more years we may opt to keep him as our 3C. We aren't too interested in forward prospects unless it really shocked us. We have Kemell, Evangelista, Tomasino, Afiniseyev, Svechkov, L'Hereaux. What we'd really need is to bolster our D core.

Broberg works. The trade could probably be
Ekholm for Broberg, Foegele, A 1st and a 4th (the 4th for taking foegele's contract back).
