I highly doubt Florida is selling

I absolutely don’t envy their position. Can’t afford to sell, but couldn’t even buy a goal to make up the ground in the standings

They won't sell because they have loads of cap space opening up this summer. They are still a very strong team, just with some hopes to fill on the back end

Honestly they just need a few bounces to go their way. They have strong underlyings, but are scoring almost 20 goals under expected, to pair with goaltending that’s barely average, and have the highest team xG/60 in the league
Who knows how patient management is though, since this year could cost a few jobs

Loads of cap space? It's basically only Hörnqvist's deal coming off the books because Yandle's buy out savings have already been spent on Knight's next contract and the other "big" contract coming to term is Gudas which is one of the few over-performing their deal so maybe he comes back to a similar deal or you'll have to spend even more to replace him. Other than this it's pretty much only league minimums so a raise is likely for all of them, all in all it's 11.4 millions to get two second pairing D and a third line on the open market. It certainly is some cap space but there are plenty of needs to fill.

The only reason they can't/won't sell is the fact that Zito's loosing his job if their pick wins the lottery so he'll try to win as many games as possible but long term view of the team is (A) trade anyone of value that doesn't fit in Maurice's playing style if he's your guy or (B) do nothing and hopefully things magically changeover the summer. For me you have to sell Reinhart while he's at the peak of his value right now on a team friendly deal cause he's going to ask for quite the paycheck next year and turning 29 when the deal's gonna get signed I don't know if you want to throw him a blank check for long term on a team that might or might not be competitive.
Spit-balling here but if a contender offers Florida a very good young guy like Othmann, Lysell, Mukhamadullin or Morrow and then some on top are you taking it for the long term or do you stay with one year of Reinhart and then who knows?
