    Other than Meier…this is reasonable.
With a 10M qualifying offer, don’t think his RFA rights will be worth much- so essentially get back what you’d get for trading rights prior to UFA…a 6th? So yeah- not enough recoup value….and not giving up a 1st for a rental.
In the end, if Meier gets moved they will get something in the range of a 1st, a good prospect, and another pick (depending on how good the prospect). And the team that picks him up will look to extend.

I agree that we shouldn't, but we very much will be giving up a 1st for a rental. This is NYR. We might even give up Othmann also.

Wish I could disagree- but “This is NYR” says it all. To expand upon that- “This is the team with 1 Cup in 81 (or 82) years….whose ownership family (also owns NY Knicks and Cleveland Guardians) has ZERO championships in 100 years”.

So of course- I unfortunately expect another short sighted “win now” move before 2023 TDL…why set the table with a real good chance to compete hard for the Cup over a 4-6 year period (or longer) when instead you can foolishly go all in on this year?

It's such a miserable experience. We gotta hope we can somehow win by accident.
