Description

Leafs add 2 forwards to an already strong roster. Toews provides them with security if one of Matthews or Tavares gets injured and barbashev adds some size, hitting and a scoring touch. Adding Meier or a bigger name would be nice, I just think rounding out the forward group with 2 guys and adding depth is more important than the 1 big fish.

Our wingers are fine, but barbashev brings something most of them don't. He isn't afraid to fight and he hits a lot, 105 hits so far puts him 1 behind Aston-Reese. He even dropped the gloves with Perry already this year who the leafs will face in the first round. I'd rather him doing that than Simmonds when Simmonds can't even play.

I think there is competition for Toews so that 2nd is gonna be a 2nd+. With greater emphasis on 2023 picks over later years.
