Description
The top is 6 has top end skill and finishing in Mcdavid, Draisaitl, Kane and hyman

The top 9 is filled with defensibly responsible 2 way forwards with Labanc, Puljujarvi , RNH, Mcleod and Holloway

1st line has speed in all 3 players, a defensively responsible winger in holloway, A high end play maker in 97 and hard nosed finisher in hyman

2nd line has 2 great finishers with kane and 29, Labanc also has great finishing but i want him to focus on his 2 way play to cover Kane and drai's 5v5 defensive woes

line 3 is a perfect shutdown line 2 defensive mined forwards with RNH and Mcleod who are good with their sticks in the open ice and Puljujarvi who was top 30 in selke voting last season and one of the best board battling wingers and leads the oilers in hits this season, Perfect line to disrupt the board cycle and kill the oppositions momentum.

line 4 could probably be the 3rd line on most teams, I scratched janmark for foegele and kostin for more beef and grit but i kept ryan since he's our only RHC and great 2 way player

Nurse-Gudas is the new 1st pair, hopefully gudas forces playes to dump the puck more so nurse can retrieve them because thats where his game excels

Broberg-Bocuhard has been arguably our best pair since the Christmas break although they have been playing weaker QoC and been stared in the O-Zone significantly more than the D-Zone I would start to give them more and more responsibility to see if they sink or swim before the TDL to see if its real and they establish themselves as our 2nd Pair. Bouchard is starting to look like he did last season with his effective 5v5 offense and Broberg is looking more and more like the D-man holland saw and drafted (props to him for keeping him)

Kulak-Benning both D-man are solid in their own end and play the game very simple, pair them with line 3 and everyone will have a hard time matching up against them in april

overall I feel I have made this forward group a much tougher 5v5 team to play against where most the game is played in the playoffs with Adding Labanc who can help stabilize that 2nd line that constantly leaks goals (yes they score a lot but also get scored on a lot as well) placing a 2 way forward on every line to take as much pressure off the D as possible

The D-pairs have struggled quite a bit the season especially the Right side and 1st pair in particular so i feel it really needs a change and Bouch is still young and developing so i would avoid trading him at all cost because i believe Brob-Bouch are going to be our 1st pair in the next 2-3 years

with the D pairs getting more support from every line in the F group I think the goaltenders would really start to shine and they become a contender

I love desharnais but I would prefer playing 12-6 in the playoffs for match up purposes he would be an excellent 7th D man and he could use the practices vs nhl players
Trades
1.
EDM
  1. Benning, Matthew
  2. Labanc, Kevin
Additional Details:
Benning is a perfect 3 RHD, cheap, reliable and good in his own zone, Labanc is a great middle 6 forward who has good iq in his own end
SJS
  1. Barrie, Tyson
  2. Schaefer, Reid
  3. Yamamoto, Kailer
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Im not that high on scaefer who was the oilers 2022 1st rd draft pick, Yamamoto is too easily hurt in the bottom 6 and not productive enough for the top 6, Barrie has been playing great this season and his value is probably high as ever so i would sell high
2.
EDM
  1. Gudas, Radko
Additional Details:
Gudas has had good underlying numbers for the past few seasons and proved he could hang with tougher QoC when FLA had injuries in the past, If FLA doesnt think they'll make the playoffs (which they probably wont with the stacked east W.C race) maybe they'll move gudas with 1y left for a pick(s)
FLA
  1. Ceci, Cody
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (EDM)
  3. 2025 6th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Nurse-Ceci has not been a good pair this season and ceci especially has struggled mightily against tougher QoC, I like the guy and hes a great bottom 4 D but the Oilers need someone who proved they can actually hang with tougher opponents
