thankfully there are rumblings that bob Nicolson might retire, Kenny then moves to President of hockey ops for the final year of his contract then Steve Staios or Brad holland move in as GM, both value analytics so either would make me happy if true

i think ceci might not be as negative as people think, Everyone seems to forget that he plays against the best players every night and his Comp is always in the 100th Percentile, moving him to a team that will move him down and playing against 2nd-3rd liners would be massive for him

yevseyev is going to be a very very interesting prospect to watch when he comes over from Russia, He just wrapped up his season in the KHL and had the best season for 18 year old defender ever**
he's someone i'm going to really have my eye on

*I could be wrong and it could be only LD but either way he has put up good numbers as an 18 year old in arguably the 2nd best league in the world

bouchard-ekholm works a lot better with mcdavid's line and Nurse-ceci works well with drai's line

yeah Vinny.D is now an important part of our PK and arguably our best D PKer but he isn't that good 5v5 which is where broberg-kulak come in to limit his minutes. Kostin SH% heater has come to an end and he isn't as effective as everyone thought Bjugstad can bring the size play on the PK and smart in his own zone, Ryan is a good 4 C/RW and foegele is really picking it up which makes shore, Kostin and janmark the players out

Gavrinkov is not the type of D man the oilers players want, they want a D man who can actually move the puck out himself and not just bank it off the glass which is all gav does, he's so washed this year
gavrinkov also said he wouldn't sign an extension in canada so i doubt he even wants to come here

Scheafer and yamamoto are probably going to be good 3rd liners and that's about it, players like that aren't difference makers in the playoffs keeping those picks and wasting mcdavid and draisaitls prime years is not a good idea the gap between gretzky/messier to Mcd/Drai is about 30ish years do you really want to wait that long and go through another decade of darkness for another chance with players like these???

also Eliot Friedman reported on the Oilers players wanting a puck mover on his 32 thoughts podcast today with jeff marek about 2 hrs ago

the Top player such as Mcdavid, Draisaitl and Nuge have also made it clear they want some who can actually move the puck and not just bank it off the glass so that rules out Ghost, Edmundson and gavrinkov as trade options and leaves us with chychrun, karlson or potentially ekholm

untrue, Oilers max cap hit next season is 81,604,000 due to the carryover bonuses and he has his cap set to the standard $82.5M so he would still need to stay 896K over the cap, Currently we are -400k on puckpedia with mcleod still to sing but on here capfriendly we still have 300k in cap space with Klef and smith on LTIR
