wouldn't resign ZAR, he's pretty useless. I wouldn't put knies straight into the nhl, I'd give him a year in the ahl imo. bring up steeves to the fourth line. and I'd give Gaudette a shot on that fourth line. if gaudette isn't good, dubas can work his magic on finding a fourth line guy which shouldn't be to hard.

Hawks trade I think depends on your valuation of Sandin. If you think Sandin has the value of a first rounder, the value is probably close (probably a little light). Not sure the Hawks will bite on this though as they have a pipeline of LHD that is pretty stacked and likely prefer a first rounder to try to hit on a high ceiling forward prospect is probably where they are at at this point

Hawks pass. We are stacked with LHD young players and prospects, it's our strongest position in the Hawks prospect pool as noted by The Athletic in just recently ranking each team's prospect pool with explanations.

As such, the Hawks just aren't going to place high enough value on Sandin (fair or not) for this trade to be valuable enough to them for them to pull the trigger is my educated guess. McCabe retained is worth a first, and Lafferty is worth a 3rd or maybe even a 2nd if the market heats up for him which is seems like it is.
