Checking out the options

We're not going to try to convince a closed mind what Adam Henrique is worth, or why. We're just going to say that we'll wait 'til next year to trade him.

lol I am actually wondering how much he is worth. I haven't seen many trade options with him involved so I am intrigued to hear your point of view

It's not MY point of view . . . several exchanges, including ACGMs, with the Colorado faithful have resulted in a general agreement that Henrique with 50% retention and a third-round pick in 2023 gets Colorado's 2024 first. (The third could come from trading Dimitri Kulikov to the Rangers or Toronto or could be the Minnesota third.) Such an exchange got a Yes from all 5 Avalanche authorities whose knowledge and judgment I trust. Similar deals have been discussed with New Jersey adherents, taking the basic form of the Devils' 2023 or 2024 second and Shakir Mukhamadullin. Carolina and Toronto fans have offered similar deals, all adhering to the same basic framework: either a first, or a second plus a good prospect, the values of each being adjusted by the height of the second and the quality of the prospect. The advantages of having another season left on his contract and being able to reduce Henrique's cost to below $3 million for that last season should be apparent.
