Overestimating the trade value. Maybe cheaper targets then, they're right there but they need one or two pieces to push them into the playoffs and make them competitive against Toronto, Tampa, Rangers, Hurricane. Right now they need to break away from Caps, Pens, Isles, etc.

I think the only thing that will make them competitive with carolina, tampa, toronto, boston is time for their young players to get better. Not going out and trading for players having career years and taking away time and situations from their own players. This is a move that will give a little bone to the players this year without having long term ramifications on their future.
