Trading Jake Gardiner’s contract does nothing for the Canes.

At this point, if any team offers the Ducks a 2nd for Klingberg, they should take it and run. No way, no how does he pull in 3 picks.

I’d offer a 4th or 5th for him at 50% retained, take it or leave it.

Martinook has found new life since being played with Staal and Fast, and he is one of the glue guys the Canes have. Moving Gardiner makes no sense with him LTIRetired. Klingberg holds little value as is, and even less from the Canes right now. If the Canes had truly wanted him, they wouldn’t have made the move for Burns. But since they made that move, there is no reason whatsoever for the Canes to make this move.
