Keep an eye on New Jersey. If they extend meier, the pastrnak situation changes pretty drastically. I know that bruins management thinks the devils are the only other option for him. Either way, i don’t think he gets north of 11.

I hope ur right, but this long hold out should cause some concern. 8x11 would make the most sense, but if that were the case it wouldve been done by now. It honestly shouldnt be surprising if he gets more than 8x11 and the whole Boston discount goes out the window. Ik pastas said he doesnt play for money, but it sure seems like hes holding out because of the money or maybe to see what the teams plan for the future is.

Sweeney has done this with everyone but mcavoy - he makes them wait. It’s always worked.

Here is what I know: boston and pasta’s camp agreed on term and AAV at some point early in the season - 8x10. The reason they didn’t get it done there was the bruins wanted no signing bonus in, I think 26-27, because of a potential lockout. Pastrnak’s camp wanted max signing bonus that year. My impression (I don’t know this part) was that they likely would have met in the middle, but then pastrnak went nuclear and things may have changed. Back to what I do know, both sides seemed to think it was the devils, or the bruins. Naturally some team could clear a ton of room, and that all changes, but earlier in the season, that’s where things stood.
