Description
I wanna see Matthews carry his own lines. I think being able to send three different waves of offence at Tampa in the playoffs that can also play on the defensive side of the puck will be more effective than loading up the top 6. Keefe can always make that adjustment in-game if needed. I don't see this happening but if you think Matthews is the player everyone says he is (top 3-5 in the league) let him show it by carrying the load on his line. Engvall-O-Marner can be the matchup line to play against tampa's line 1. Lafferty-JT-Nylander as your "third line" would be the best third line in the league. Should get a lot of O-zone starts and be able to keep the puck there.

In terms of defence I would go with the usual Rielly-Brodie, Gio-Lily but then McCabe on the 3rd pair with either Holl or Sandin. Give both (Holl and Sandin) looks down the stretch and see what u wanna do in playoffs.

Samsonov gets the start tin the series. But if he drops the ball give the net to Murray who’s got that playoff pedigree.

McCabe is arguably as good as Brodie, some may say even better. In fact, McCabe and Reilly may make a better pairing? Bottom line though, he should not be playing 3rd line minutes on the Leafs. Without a doubt he's playing 2nd line minutes.

So you think Lafferty is better suited on the 4th line with Acciari and Aston Reese? playing in more of a checking line role (11-13 mins a night)?

Yes, and as a PK guy. He's an agitator and forechecker on 5on5 and a PK specialist. He can slot up in the lineup, but not ideal.
