Just curious... Why are the predators trading Ekhlom? I've seen him in a lot of mocks, but aren't they contending

the only argument in keeping JP over Yamo is that it give the oilers an extra 3 million in cap space this summer when they also walk from JP.
There is no way they offer a 3.5 AAV to him after this season maybe 1-1.5 to be a 3rd line player but thats it.

no they are starting to sell of an retool. they are just out of the play offs thanks to beating 3 pretty bad teams. I think this is the right decision this year as even if they squeak in i don't see them going far.
