Description
Right off the bat im going to say I think this team should be rebuilding, not retooling. With that said if this team is set on making the playoffs here's my roster.

Im not super confident on some of the UFA signings values, but there an additional 1.5M in space that could be redistributed if a contract or two are a few hundred K off.

Goal for this team is to fix the PK, add another top 4 D and a 3C. If Demko stays healthy I think they have a good chance at making the playoffs but I still do not see them as a contender. The following year creates even more cap hell and OEL would likely have to be bought out and an additional player with salary moved.

Well right off the bat it really doesn’t matter if fans want a rebuild isn’t happening. Move on

Next is poor asset management if a retool. Throwing away picks for short term? Nope

Riding out the last year of Myers & Pearson is the better option if no takers.

Well right off the bat it really doesn’t matter if fans want a rebuild isn’t happening. Move on

That is what I essentially said in my opening description. I don't think retool is the best course of action but it's going to happen regardless, so here's my roster...

Next is poor asset management if a retool. Throwing away picks for short term? Nope

I completely disagree with this statement. This retool is meant to be very quick, Alvin and Rutherford themselves said 1-2 years and that the playoffs are expected next season, I don't even know if this should be called a retool maybe it should be called going all in.
This team HAS to move money out just to be compliant with the cap. If they truly want to make the playoffs next season they will have to move additional money out in order to improve the roster, no one is doing Vancouver a favor and taking on their poor contracts without compensation. For all those glass 3/4 full fans out there, this management group has been trying to move money for over a year now, if they could have without spending assets to do so it would have already happened.

Riding out the last year of Myers & Pearson is the better option if no takers.

I agree with this statement because I don't think a "retool" or "going all in" is the best course of action, but as you clearly stated, "it really doesn’t matter if fans want a rebuild isn’t happening. Move on". If the team is not doing a rebuild and their goal is to make the playoffs next season they are again going to have to move money out, and its going to cost.
