Positives from the season.
Red Wings finished 8th last in the league last season and this season we could be even worse. But I don't look at it in that perspective. Team defense has gotten much better: Last season Wings had a -82 goal differential while so far this season it's -29. And a big reason it's still so bad is because Larkin is the only guy who consistently produces. Adding more talent to the team and growth from the young guys will fix that naturally. We don't see Wings letting in 10+ goals anymore which was a norm in the past LOL. The Oilers and Panthers have allowed more goals than the Wings this season, which is crazy to me.

Tank! Wings have a tough schedule in front of them. It's also sickening to watch a team play with 8 AHL caliber players against good teams. Currently, the Wings have the 9th best lottery odds, but the situation may change soon. Canucks, Flyers, Arizona and maybe even the Habs could pass us in the standings. At best, Wings could have the 5th or 6th best lottery odds instead of the 9th or 10th. Big difference between 5th and 10th pick.

This team is in a complete freefall right now. The year's been an absolute failure, if anyone but Yzerman was the GM right now people would be calling for his head.

This roster is awful right now, but I don't really blame Yzerman. The depth on this team looked really promising in the offseason, but this team will never make the playoffs as long as we're this injury prone. Bertuzzi, Vrana and Fabbri have all been important to this team, but none of them can stay healthy. Now Rasmussen, Husso and Chiarot are injured as well. Imagine this team if we hadn't signed Kubalik or Perron
