Description
Yeah yeah yeah, I'm sure this is what every pens fan is thinking rn... it rly wasn't that hard, simply making no moves would have left the team better than making the moves Hexy has made

This team is comfortably in the playoffs and likely competing with the Rags/Devils for a spot in the top 3 of the division!!!!

(LTIR guys are playoff callup/scratches... yes POJ should play over Dumo, but we all know that is not gonna happen)

Also looking forward to next yr this team is in a much better spot, ~30 mil cap space with the core signed, only guy you need to re-sign is Zucker, and try to keep some of the bottom 6 depth but they could be replaced in FA/via (competent) trades
Trades
1.
PIT
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
NSH
  1. Granlund, Mikael
Additional Details:
This is obvious
2.
PIT
NSH
  1. Carter, Jeff
Additional Details:
Resigning the regressing 35+ yr old who had another yr left on his contract bc he played good for 15 games was a genius move
3.
COL
Letting him go when you just moved out ZAR was a very smart move!!
    4.
    PIT
    1. 2024 3rd round pick (PIT)
    ANA
    1. Kulikov, Dmitry
    Additional Details:
Also wouldn't have signed McGinn, tho he turned out less horrible, but then wouldn't have needed to make this move
    5.
    VGK
    1. 2024 3rd round pick (VGK)
    Additional Details:
Blueger hasn't been as good this yr, yes, but still probably wouldn't have done this move right now, depth is crucial
    6.
    NJD
    1. Smith, Ty
    2. 2023 3rd round pick (NJD)
    Additional Details:
    Yeah...
    7.
    MTL
    1. Petry, Jeff
    Additional Details:
I will admit, I didn't dislike this move at the time, so this is 100% revisionist history, but looking back on it Matheson would be much better for this team
    8.
    PIT
    MTL
    1. Rutta, Jan
    Additional Details:
Also just why was this ever a thing
    9.
    DAL
    1. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
    Additional Details:
Only "extra" move I'll make bc we were clearly willing to move this pick,.... but we just moved it for a worse, more expensive, older player!! (Could also be Nino, but he was gone before the Granlund deal)

Poehling came from the Matheson deal, we probably wouldn't have him without it.

Shouldn't have signed Malkin either. Should've given that to Trocheck

Right, my b, was thinking he was not qualified by MTL for some reason. Still tho, even replacing him with Nylander/Archibald it's still a 1000x better team than what we have now

no it's not a joke because Trocheck is 29 and Malkin is 36. Trocheck will be 36 at the end of his deal while Malkin is already 36
