SanJose will likely lose Reimer this offseason, and they don't really have many NHL caliber goalies to replace him. Acquiring Murray allows their young goalies to develop in the minors instead of rushing them to the NHL. However, if they play well in the minors, it may also give them short opportunities throughout the year to play in the big leagues when Murray inevitably gets hurt.
