Description

After an amazing season in 2021-22, the Flames fell flat this year. I’m not sure if they will benefit just with some small changes, or they need a large overhaul. Firing Sutter and Treliving should help, so I don’t think they’ll have to do too much in terms of players. As long as guys like Huberdeau and Kadri can bounce back and they hire the right coach, they should be in a good position. But if they are bad or mediocre again, they should blow it up at the deadline.

I can't think of a single reason STL would pay for Vladar. Could very easily sign a cheap depth veteran goaltender in UFA to be a backup, and on top of that the plan has been to have Hofer play substantial NHL time next season. Vladar's contract isn't terrible, but after this past season, it's certainly not good. But that's not really the reason for not needing him.
