Description
If they serious about keeping core 4 together this is what they could potentially do and its honestly not bad

Murray was moved in a similar manner to Mrazek but who knows he may just pull a Mike Smith

Cogliano looks like someone who would mesh in well with Lafferty as both be good, fast skaters

Bertuzzi brings that element Leafs could use in their top 6 rn

Rodriguez allows JT to move to LW where he may be better suited

And from there brought back Acciari, Schenn, and Samsonov who were good for us. Really debated on ROR but I feel hes getting over 5mill open market who knows maybe he surprises us

As for RFA's extended all

And for those who ask where Robertson is. Let the kid play in the AHL and stay healthy rn. He will be the first call up when needed

This is OK if they upgrade 3C and D at the deadline.

Thats my thought process. As honestly Holmberg looked good and deserves another shot. As to me he would make for a nice 3c candidate. But who knows maybe JT gets it together and is 2c with Rodrigues as 3c and Holmberg plays wing.

Dcore is yea a wait and see but like forward core so many options. Can put Brodie on the right and bring Gio back up

But as we saw last year just see how team does till TDL and decide what u want to add.

My only problem with waiting and seeing is that they would be in a similar position as last year, with either adding a top 6 F (2LW/C/3C) or a top 4 D. The addition is probably going to be a ufa though, and there's a good chance that they end up in the same position the following season as well. What could be problematic about this cycle is if the Leafs actually need a top 4 D.

The thing rn is they got Rielly, Brodie, and McCabe who are top 4guys. Liligren took a step but needs to do more but if he plays like he did before TDL hes got top 4i in the making and Schenn showed he can handle top 4 with Rielly. Play out the season and if they need add by TDL

Yeah, Liljegren taking another step is going to be key, but I wonder where Brodie's game will be/if he's resigned in the following season.

Schenn if he is resigned basically just replaces what they had in Giordano. McCabe was Muzzin's replacement.

So, it's more or less the same quality of Dcore depending but looking at the ages, there is likely going to be a massive drop off.

That's why I rather see them add another top 4 D to the Dcore in the offseason that is 26-28 instead of Bertuzzi and then wait and see on the forward group.
