Description
A lot of trades for a lot of picks. Just thinking through some ways the Sharks might capitalize on their cap space and organizational depth (where they happen to have it anyway).

I tried to focus on "upgrading" Sharks picks where possible because I think that's usually more palatable for the teams who are downgrading. Its easier to say yes to a trade when at the end of the day you still get to make some picks.

This guy loves those second rounders. Pretty good plan for a rebuild honestly

Why San Jose is giving up a promising prospect and picks to take on two cap dumps is kind of odd. Also would give up a pick and retain all that money

Ceci and Foegele don't hurt our cap long term, and I think its worth while to upgrade our two fourths to two seconds. Knaizev fits a need on Edmonton but has fallen down our depth chart with the addition of Muhk, Thrun and Okhotiuk. I thought he would be needed to get Edmonton to make the deal work, but maybe we downgrade to two 5ths or remove him entirely, I dunno.

At the end of the day if this is what the sharks do this offseason I’m ok with it. It sets us up for a good rebuild with a lot of options. Assuming after the 15th pick it’s 50% chance a player makes the NHL and even less to be productive, and anything past the 2nd round drops so very low. Throwing this many picks at our lack of talent issue would be a great way to turn things around.
