With Graves walking to FA there is a hole to fill in our PK. We have Marino, Seigs and Bahl as our first 3 guys. Smith could play this position but I don’t think the team wants to use him as a 6D. Brodie is decent target for a couple of reasons.
1. We can absorb his cap hit more than other cup contending teams.
2. He’s a RHD, can play both sides and would replace Graves on the PK.
3. He’s got 1 year which is perfect for the make of the defense and allows Nemec 1 more year to grow and better his game in the AHL if he needs the extra time.
4. I think he and Luke Hughes would make a very good 3rd pair.

I doubt there’s much of a market. Unless he’s packaged he will be in training camp and if anything get poached there
