Description
As we all know, new GM Craig Conroy wants to incorporate more youth into the lineup. A rebuild is inevitable with an aging core. Why not just bite the bullet and rebuild now to hopefully be ready to compete consistently once the new area is done.

Buying out Kadri is a stupid idea. I don't think this team wants that much dead cap for over a decade

WSH will not be trading 8th Overall for that, they are trying to get younger.

This team is not going to buyout Kadri! Based on last season he's slightly overpaid, but I think that butting heads with Sutter had a lot to do with it.

We're also probably not trading Coleman. He has a full NTC, and I get that he's from Texas, but Calgary won't be retaining that much.

I'm not familiar enough with the Seattle prospects, but I would probably be disappointed with that trade, a 1st and a whole bunch of who?

The Hanifin and Toffoli trade, again I guess you're a bigger Mantha fan than I am, but that would be a tough way to start a rebuild, despite the very good 1st.

I see them trying to go for one more cup with the old core, they go all in for a cup and for Ovi to break the record.

You see wrong. They may trade other players for similarly aged vets, they’re not trading that pick for anything other than a stellar young player under 25 or they’ll simply make their selection. They’re not going to use the pick to get older and more expensive.
