Devils decline. Casey is younger and has much higher upside. If Casey were to be traded, it would be in a package for a Top 6 winger. We have another RHD on the market though in Reilly Walsh. Give us your 2023 6th and he is yours!

A 6th?! Wouldn't move him for a 6th. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd. Otherwise keep him.

Fitzy did not even call him up to be a black ace in the playoffs. He is waivers eligible next season and there is no shot he makes the roster next year. Might as well get something of value for him, even if it is not much.

No team is paying a 2nd or 3rd for a defensemen who is 23 and has no NHL experience, unless you are a B prospect or Jimmy Vesey (out of college). He is none of those. I would be happy to get a mid round pick back, but it is clear Fitz does not value him much. There was a lot of intrigue about him at the deadline (alongside Okhotiuk, Muk, and Vilen) and there may be still some interest out there. 6th is completely fair.

He is well-liked among advanced stats crowd.
Is Hockey Prospecting's 6th best defensive prospect.
Has very strong 5v5 numbers.
Young RD are sought after.

And has a good chance of being our 3RD next year (as Nemec is kept in AHL to preserve slide).
