Trade 1 - CBJ Pick up 2 extremely talented and affordable players in Clutterbuck and Kulemin for two depth guys with limited ability and potential. CBJ throw in a handful of low picks to make deal fair.

Trade 2 - LA gets the franchise goalie they've been looking for along with a cornerstone winger in this deal. Only give up an aging Dman and a few picks.


Trade 3 - SJS finally get their missing piece to push them over the hump. Isles get a goalie who projects to be a solid back-up for Dipietro when he returns. Both teams swap equal value picks.


Trade 4 - BUF decides enough is enough with troubled center Eichel. Moves him for a lot of draft assets while only giving up a few of their own. Tim Murray looks like a genius on this one.


Signing 1 - NYI signs Draisaitl to an 8 year contract at 650k/yr. Good depth guy could be in and out of line up behind Czikas. Still young and has yet to prove himself at the NHL level. Slight overpayment for an unproven commodity.



Signing 2 - NYI fill the hole that was once Matt Martin. Pastrnak is a gritty, hard hitting forward with limited offensive upside. A bit of a reach on term and cap-hit here.


All in all this isles team has a lot to prove. Will likely finish with around 75-80pts. Look for them to try and acquire some high-end draft capital around deadline time as they have a meager 16 1st rd draft picks in the next 5 years. Wooing JT doesn't lool like a real possibility at this point.
