The Leafs might be interested but I don't think they will be at that price. Sure salary retention is valuable, but it seems pretty likely if you're moving McDonaugh you'll have to retain salary just to move him, so it seems kind of neutral.

Mcdonagh has 3 years left on his deal so no thanks;maybe if it was his last year - Leafs might consider but absolutely no way they’d pay a 1st.
