Ditch Nieto and re-sign Cogs for me, and that bottom 6 is all over the place. Malgin-Newhook-Olausson and Nieto-Meyers-O'Connor would make more sense. Still not great as a bottom 6 but not awful either.

I will take your word for it and ditch Nieto but would want someone younger than Cogliano to help change the bottom six. In hindsight maybe Danton Heinen or Joel Kiviranta might be better if the money works. Thanks for the input.

I see a lot of people re-sign Nieto for the Avs (for varying amounts), loved him before, not so much this time round. He just seemed to have lost it somehow but then I can't really think of a player on the Avs who didn't look out of sorts in some way during the series against Seattle. He was arguably the worst though imo. Cogs is solid (assuming the broken neck is ok!) and a lot of it with him is the veteran presence, how he trains and so on, and Nate is a big fan I believe so if he wants to come back on a short deal for the right money I think it's a no brainer, even if it's as the healthy scratch some of the time. He's also able to play C and can help Meyers. Heinen certainly wouldn't be the worst add and IIRC a former DU Pioneer so would probably feel comfortable.

I also doubt ROR returns to Colorado. I think he'll chase the money and get paid something silly by someone. I personally wouldn't go above $5mil for him now. Especially for 4 years.
