Description

This team is deeper for sure, but not necessarily a lock for the playoffs. It will be competitive though. Also, I see the Atlantic weakening some, with BOS falling apart, and TBL with their own cap/depth problems. OTT and BUF are on the rise, along with DET, which is going to balance out the Atlantic more. Who knows what is going to happen to TOR, they'll be a playoff team, but their window is closing too.

No matter what happens, DET needs to bring on $6.1m in salaries to meet the cap floor.

In the end, I don't think Debrincat gets traded anywhere before the season starts. OTT will try to shoot for the playoffs in year 1 of new ownership. If they are out of it, they'll move Debrincat at the TDL.

BOS will try to field a competitive team for 2023-2024, which means they need to move salary. Of players with value, Hall is the oldest one. They include a cap dump in Reilly, which affects their return, but clears $9m of cap space without any retention needed.

Signed Monahan to a deal, and let Kasper start on the wing. The other option is he starts on the LW for Copp, but that line takes on a lot of defensive responsibility, so keep him on the sheltered line.

Bring on Dumba with a 1 year prove it deal. He could be moved at the TDL, or prove it and earn himself another contract (potentially by pushing DET to the playoffs).
