Description

I have them taking what is maybe one last roll of the dice with the current core. We're closer than people think. We made the playoffs and lost, but to the eventual champion with three of our best players injured.
The risk here is losing guys like Hellebuyck, Dubois, etc. to free agency, but they can always abort at the trade deadline.

I feel like you have not been paying very close attention... PLD has made it pretty clear he is not re-signing with the Jets and Wheeler will likely be bought out within the next several days.
I respect your optimism but no, they were not close at all. They have had more than their share of dice rolls. Time for change!

What's the harm? Like I said, they can bail out at the trade deadline. I would be fine with a retool if this season starts off poorly but why not give them a chance? And I think PLD will sign for 1 year because he has no choice. After that, he can go anywhere he wants as a UFA.
