JGP is the type of player that would thrive in Toronto and is what Toronto is missing. Additionally Nylander is a UFA at the end of the season IDK how much you expect to get out of him. I personally wouldnt want to get rid of pageau but would for Nylander. Probably the best 3rd line center in the league (who kills penalties and is a faceoff winning machine), samuel bolduc a big young Dman who has a lot of potential and a draft pick for a UFA who is due a lot of money sounds pretty good. If maple leafs ever want a chance of winning they are going to need to get more role players rather than top heavy stars that take up all their cap space

That package is less than what they gave up for pending UFA Horvat. Nylander will cost at least a 1st, a 2nd, and a good prospect or roster player. You can maybe build a package that includes JGP, but he absolutely can not be the main piece going back.

It's crazy to me how much of an underrated play JGP is. Also in my opinion Horvat is a more valuable player than Nylander. Centers who win faceoffs, play PP, play PK and are good defensively as well as offensively are more valuable than star wingers.
