The Vancouver trade may have been possible last week. But Miller's no Trade kicked in July 1st (so even more unlikely now). If Hanifin does not want to play in Canada, then Vancouver would not be interested either.

If it did happen, the second piece would likely have been Garland over Mikheyev (due to injury and Vancouver's desire to move him). I also agree that a trade with a division rival would be very rare, especially with star players. But this would have made for an awesome rivalry if it happened.
