Description
If Toews retires, there are other options (both internal and external) for the last forward spot.

Dumba is a long shot, but guys get left behind in this weird market. Colorado would allow him the chance to play with an amazing partner and perhaps set himself up for a longer deal next season. I give this about a 1% chance of happening, but it would it be a lot cooler if it did.

Cap space would be better allocated in getting another impact forward for the middle 6F versus adding to an already deep D core

Isn’t Toews still dealing with long Covid issues or something?

I did add a middle six forward in Toews. There is still money left, and Dumba is still out there, so I figured why not. The D is absolutely insane, and the forward group looks pretty good too imo.

Yes, Toews and his health is a question mark for sure, but I'm assuming he feels good and wants to play. If so, I think he'd be a nice addition.

I see you added Toews but at this point in his career, I wouldn’t label him an “impact” player. I’m hoping COL takes a swing at Kane/Tarasenko/Tatar/Sundqvist

Only way I would be interested in J Toews is at 4C if that, he has been crushed in 5v5 metrics for a number of years. I’m not convinced he can still skate well enough either especially with the Avs.
