You mean the Karlsson that said he wants out of SJ, the one that, in regard to him, Grier acknowledged and understands that in order to make a trade happen they’ll have to retain salary, the one that only has two teams vying for his services, potentially one if CAR signs Tarasenko? SJ leverage is waning.
Now imagine thinking a 1st, a 2nd, a 2nd round prospect, a solid, young former 1st round d man in Joseph, and a 2nd pair (overpaid) defenseman in Petry, who can be flipped with retention for a solid asset, isn’t “even remotely close” for that Karlsson.
