I agree. Nothing against him at all, he's a solid player. But I just don't think he fits our system really well. Speed isn't his forte and he played to the perimeter mainly without shooting much in the 9 games he played last season. Only had 2 points as well. Don't think the top 6 is the right place for him in the lineup.

Agreed. With all the depth signings Dubas just made, there is no way I see Nylander cracking the opening night roster. I've just come to think that it's his last name that gets everyone all excited. He's a fringe NHL player.

The only reason to me you try him on Geno's line is because his one decent year in Chicago he played mostly with Toews and Saad and Strome and Kane. So maybe you figure you stick him with Malkin and Smith and he can contribute? Just spitballing.

I think DOC deserves some third line minutes... see what happens, if it's lackluster drop him back to 4th but to me it's worth trying at least at 3rd.
