I actually had it at 7.875 and came down, lol. I will fully admit I have not watched him play so it was a shot in the dark. But low end first pairing defenseman I think are about mid 6's now. So this would be the rate for an average first pairing defenseman.

Last year, he obviously took a step forward
He was 22nd in the league in TOI/GP, so on the high end of average for first pairing, assuming 64 first pairing defenseman
He was 11th in pts for a defenseman
Most impressively he was SECOND in even strength points for a defenseman (massive gap between Karlsson at first with 74 and him at second with 49).

So I dunno, seems like paying him average first pairing D money (in the new world) seems legit? But again no expert

It may be steep but that's probably close to what he's getting. My guess is 8x7.5 to 8.

I imagine this is why the team and him are going to arbitration. Take it from a sharks fan, u dont wanna give out 8 year contracts to people in the late 20's, this isnt exactly like the shark situation, Dunn is a bit younger but he will be 34 by the time a 8 year deal expires

Yeah but he's an RFA so by definition younger. I did 7 above too
