Description
Why not stash a few guys on LTIR for when we inevitably catch the injury bug again?

Not sure what any of the signings get, using placeholders for now.

Are you suggesting signing guys and putting them on LTIR "for later"?

If so, the reason teams don't do this is:

1) in order to go on LTIR, you need to actually be injured. Doctors are involved. It's one thing to stretch the length of a stint in LTIR, but it's another to fake injuries to bury contracts.
2) if they are on LTIR, they can't really be showing up at practice every day like nothing is wrong
3) if a player is willing to sign 1 year deal to effectively not play for part/all a season, in case of injuries, probably won't move the needle in terms of talent. These players want to put up points to earn another contract.

Both Bear and Poolparty will miss the start of the season. Avs are already in LTIR. Downside would be if the team is miraculously healthy when the LTIR’d players return. In which case I guess you’d waive somebody.
