<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>OEL is literally a free agent, if you changed the year to 24/25 you would have saw that. We also want to keep Coleman as he is a good mentor figure for the kids. Kupari isn't a need, he is also not really a center, let alone a top 6 one lol.

Mangiapane is actually the exact type of player Ottawa should want and needs. Also he is not on a bad contract, he is very fairly paid. Gritty, high energy, high work ethic 2-way winger in his prime with nearly every single one of his points at even strength. Has played the 4th hardest minutes in the league amoung forwards and has a positive corsi vs elite competition. He also has an expected goals of over 21 this year so he's been quite unlucky with scoring considering he's only at 13.</div></div>

Hey, if you're fine paying him 6M for ~15g/45pts, that's cool. I don't begrudge the player. He put up 35g in a contract year and got the bag, good for him.

Mathieu Joseph is a high energy, 2way winger, plays gritty, good even strength player, kills penalties real good too. Puts up similar point totals too (at least this season). He makes 3M and is in his prime. That's half the price. Sure, Joseph won't put up 35g, but that seems to be an outlier for Mangiapane and not the norm.

Sens don't have cap space to pay that much for someone that doesn't put up the points. There are 2 way vets available every year in FA that doesn't require a 6M investment. And, their prospect pool is shallow so a high 2nd is valuable to them.
