Description
In all seriousness, Pageau does not fit. He's a 40 point C and would slot in behind Zacha and even Coyle on the depth chart. And DeBrusk isn't the piece to move. This is just an excuse to say that.

Pageau is more of a defensive specialist that can still contribute some offensively. Depends what Sweeney is looking for. Not sure how well Pageau would do in a more offensively inclined role. I remember when everyone, including myself, thought Jordan Staal would excel once he got more offensive deployment in Carolina and it never materialized.

The biggest issue with that is that defensive forwards aren't the real issue with this Bs team. Coyle, DeBrusk, Marchand and to a lesser extent Zacha can all be that defensive forward. And Geekie was brought in to be that bottom 6 hard to play against C. If Sweeney wanted to double down and say "we are a defensive first team" and just play incredibly hard defense and hope Pastrnak, Marchand, and Debrusk carry the offense, sure it could work. But I don't see that happening. They resigned Pasta to score 50+ goals every year and they need a C to help make that happen.

I don’t think there has been any real discussion on it.

NHL Trade Rumors page on Facebook said Isles were pursuing Debrusk and speculated that MAYBE they would try to use JGP to do it.

Pure speculation.

The simps took it and ran with it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Honestly i think Debrusk plays out his contract and goes UFA, they should explore returns.

JGP with significant retention and sweetener…they could do worse. They could do better.

But Debrusk for JGP straight or close to it is laughable.

Now this is a much better trade for BOS, although it does favour them over NYI

JD for JGP is ridiculous, even if Isles add. Bruins should want no part of trading a top 6 winger for another 3C who is worse Coyle
