Canes would succeed Orlov and Burns with Nikishin and Morrow. Slavin is an easy re-signing, similar to Aho. Canes can likely fill the last slot via trade or UFA.

Would say the pens only think about this if EK is locked in, but it all then depends what the EK return is. Pretty sure the 2024 1st would need to be going to SJ for EK or it's a nonstarter.

Petry is a very good defenseman. I would not want to give up a first to gift wrap him to a division rival to use in their top four. That’s absurd.
