How doesn't it work for Calgary? They need to trade Hanafin and Lindholm and maybe Backlund. They have space. Also, imagine Huby and Nylander working together for the next 5 years, magic.

Huh? They don't need to trade any of those players. Hanifin has a solid chance of being traded but the other 2 are unlikely unless Lindholm decides he doesn't want to re-sign.

And if they did how would Nylander help them tank? That's completely counterproductive. Nylander does not make Calgary a better team than Lindholm does and he doesn't make them bad enough to draft high.

The only way trading for Nylander makes sense for the Flames is if they keep Lindholm to center that the top line.
