It makes no sense at all from any point of view.

Nylander will not sign in Calgary even if Treliving is dumb enough to accept this.

Nylander is the best player in this trade and they are giving up a 1st?

This is just so overdone. I can't wait until Willy and Matthews sign and this is finally done.

Nylander may be the best player, but long term we'll be better served to have a Lindholm as another c option. Who is our second top 6 c in 2 years?

He's 2 years older. Long term willy is still the better option

Willy can't play c on a regular basis. I'm incredibly leery to invest big in two wingers without our top 6 c's taken care of. Teams are built down the middle
