Description
Pinto gets a cheap "prove it" 1 year bridge to get a long term extension next year. He could always decide to bet on himself again next season

Trade Kubalik for a pick and trade Brannstrom for a similar young rising 2-way forward on RFA years

I don't know which young-ish RFA forward could be available but I just threw a random example

Ideas would be welcomed.

Also, ideas as to which team could use a cheap middle-six scoring option would be appreciated

Still have no idea why Dorion didn't go after Tolvanen last season... he ended up on waivers... I would have gladly paid a pick to get him

i agree with the idea of trading kubalik for an asset over dumping assets to get rid of joz, but what a open sore that would leave on Dorion as GM in the cat trade. i also think keep branny around for depth and utilize some young forwards throughout the season intstead.

While Brännström is intriguing, I don't think Seattle goes for this. They don't really have space on the blue line anymore after signing Dumoulin, and Francis has been pretty clear about wanting to keep the path to the NHL clear for their top defensive prospect Ryker Evans, who could make his NHL debut as soon as this season. Tolvanen on the other hand has been a key piece of one of the Kraken's most effective lines. At this point, he's more of a contributor to Seattle than Brännström would be.

Yeah but Kubalik isn't the main piece in the DeBrincat trade. Signing Tarasenko allows moving Kubalik so if you can get a 2nd, the return for DeBrincat becomes 1st + 2nd + 4th + Sebrango and still have Tarasenko (hopefully) replacing DeBrincat this season

I love Brannstrom but we are stacked at LHD for a long time, could be time to use him and get something we need more, like a young 2-way middle six forward
