Description

Pysyk would be a great third pairing partner with Joseph if he has recovered from his injury.

I can see Ruhwedel getting placed on waivers for the first time since 2016 as Friedman offers more as a 7th/8th Defenseman at this stage (can also play forward when the team is in a pinch).

Regardless, I would prefer Smith to earn the 6th spot. I think Ruhwedel keeps it though, since him and POJ had great advanced stats last season.

I don’t see Sully playing him on his offside, but we’ll see. It’d be better to give him minutes over Ruhwedel, but with the offside thing and already having two nasty, freewheeling offensive D in the lineup.. I don’t see it. Smith will be a great injury fill in on the left side no doubt.
