On board with this. Smith trade works for both sides and I am high on Smith. Might take more from our end to get the Appleton deal done though.

The quality gap from Brannstrom to Smith is really big, and it's not like Smith is even significantly younger to suggest he could close the gap.

What makes you say the quality gap is really big? Smith was CHL defenceman of the year, 1st round pick, and has put up better numbers than Brannstrom in the NHL.
