Pinto Branny for Lafreniere Jones

Under no circumstances will the Rangers ever retain on Lafreniere.

Rangers arent interested in worsening their role issues in exchange for a player with lower upside than Laf. They have plans for Laf this season and don't feel any pressure to trade him. They don't view Pinto as Laf's equal(why should they?) and they don't need another center. Drury declines. This is before even mentioning the retention which would make Drury hang up instantly.

10x Pinto? You're crazy. They're pretty much the same age. One is a centre and one is a winger. Very similar production with very similar opportunity and usage. They'll also have very similar contracts.

Ottawa gets a francophone star as their 2LW to market for the French fans, NYR gets their future 2C from NY.

You can argue Laf is worth more for sure, but 10x is just dramatic and makes you look silly.

You also think Laughton is worth more than a 1st lol

I mean hey 3 different GMs offered a 1st for Laughton so maybe don’t shoot the messenger. But if you want to bring that up to deflect away from how laughable this trade is then be my guest 😂
